Emunah Women of Canada

Toronto

Emunah Women of Toronto has 10 active chapters. Programming and fundraising on a chapter and Council level sustain the vast array of projects that Emunah supports in Israel. The Toronto Council hosts the annual Family in Israel dinner, the En Hiver Gala every two years, Emunah Shabbat, the annual Me'n U campaign and social events that raise funds while providing members with an opportunity to re-new friendships while making new ones.

In order to achieve our goals, we welcome the involvement of each of you. We are engaged in the task of building a Jewish future in Israel. Please join us in our endeavor - one child, one family at a time.

Become a member of Emunah Women of Canada by contacting the Toronto office or mail in the membership form.

The Toronto Emunah Family-in-Israel dinner took place on April 30, 2007 at the Beth Avraham Yoseph Congregation in Thornhill. Three very hardworking, longtime volunteers: Shawna Magence, Laurie Dame Teperman, and Aryella Weisz were honoured. Over the years

these three women have volunteered countless hours of time and energy to Emunah Women, and were instrumental in raising several hundred thousand dollars for the organization. A Community Volunteerism Award was given to each one not only for their dedication and commitment to Emunah but also for their continued volunteer efforts on behalf of other organizations in the community, including Netivot Hatorah Day School, Zareinu, and others.

Especially noteworthy is the fact that all three are under the age of 41.

Keynote Speaker was Liebe Geft, Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, Museum of Tolerance, Los Angeles. She spoke eloquently on "Faith Family and Future", and kept the audience rapt with her eloquent message and stories.

The evening, co-chaired by Ann Feldman and Edie Kalb, was tremendously well attended and continues to be one of Emunah Women of Toronto's most successful annual fundraising campaigns. Proceeds are directed to Emunah projects in Israel, which include the Neve Michael Children's Village and Crisis Centre in Pardes Chana, Israel, a world-renowned orphanage known for its compassion and adherence to Torah values.

Emunah is extremely proud to award scholarships to deserving female High School graduates who will pursue Torah studies in Israel in religious Zionist institutions. Information and Application form.

Neve Michael is the residential home supported by Emunah Women of Canada.

Emunah Shabbat is a Toronto city wide learning program which takes place annually in June on a Shabbat afternoon. 10 synagogues participate in this program that consists of a dynamic speaker dealing with interesting and diverse topics which is followed by a delicious seudah shlishit.

In lieu of sending Mishloach Manot an Emunah Purim Card can be sent which will inform the receiver that a donation has been made in their honor to an Emunah Canada project in Israel.
